Devastating floods hit Libya's eastern region on Monday, killing thousands of people, injuring thousands more, and causing widespread damage. Your donation to the Libya Flood Relief Fund will provide emergency relief and long-term support to affected communities.
Heavy rains brought on by Storm Daniel on Sept. 10 and 11 caused devastating flooding in eastern Libya. Two major dams collapsed and destroyed countless homes and livelihoods, with entire neighborhoods swept away. Thousands of people were killed, and the death toll continues to rise. More than 10,000 people are missing. This catastrophic event is one of the most significant and deadly natural hazards in Libya's history, with search and rescue efforts still underway.
All donations to this fund will support flood relief and recovery efforts in Libya. Initially, the fund will help meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. The fund will then transition to focus on recovery efforts led by local, vetted organizations in the impacted areas to restore damaged homes, rebuild infrastructure, and more as needs evolve.
